NRTL인증 이란

NRTL이란 국가인정시험소를 말합니다. 1970년에, 미 국회는 OSHA(직업안전 건강관리국)을 자국내의 가능한 모든 근로자의 안전한
노동환경을 보증하기 위해서 출범 시켰습니다. 같은 해에 직업안전 보건관리국(OSHA)는 국가인정시험소(NRTL)를 통해서 승인받고
등록되어 라벨링 되어진 전기제품은 국내에서 받아질 수 있음을 언급한 1910.308(d)규정을 발효했습니다. 이는 등록된 국가인정
시험소에 해당하는 내용이며 UL이나 FMRC 같은 곳에 국한된 내용은 아닙니다. 그러나, OSHA는 어떻게 시험소가 국가인정시험소 자격을 획득하는지를 결장하는 수단을 제공하지 않았습니다. MET는 OSHA와의 3번의 소송을 통해, 결과적으로 시험소 자신이 NRTL로써의
자격이 있음을 입증할 수 있는 기준이 만들어지는 계기로 이어졌습니다. 1988년 6월, MET는 "반경쟁효과"를 풀겠다는 OHSA의 약속을
만들어 내면서, 미국 내 최초로 국가인정시험소(NRTL)이 되었습니다. MET의 이러한 행위들을 통해서 제조사는 연방정부의
독점정책으로 점철되는 족쇄에서 벗어날 수 있었고, 일반 소비자는 이렇게 늘어난 여러 개의 국가 인정 시험소들을 외부에서 관찰하고
개선하는 최후의 후원자가 되게 되었습니다.
